- Cotyledons: spatulate to club-shaped, markedly stalked.

- Leaves: first leaves orbicular, with a sinuate margin, later leaves deeply lobed to narrowly pinnatifid.

- Height: up to 90 cm. Plant glabrous.

- Stem erect, very branched especially at level of inflorescences.

- Leaves petiolated, deeply pinnatifid with a round, big terminal lobe and 1-3 shallow elongated lateral lobes on each side which are (±) perpendicular to the principle vein of the leaf.

- Flowers small, yellow. inflorescences bractless, at first corymbose later extending.

- Fruit 1 to 2 cm long, with peduncles as big as the fruits at the level of the inflorescence's axil - small seeds.

- Plant antispasmodic and anticatarrhal. Roots used as apperitif and diuretic.

- Biological type: annual.
