The GenoSol platform

The GenoSol platform was created by INRA in 2008 with the support of the following scientific departments :

• Environment and Agronomy
• Plant Health and the Environment
• Ecology of Forests, Grasslands and aquatic environments

This platform is housed at the UMR Microbiology of the Soil and Environment in the CMSE building at the Dijon INRA.

The Genosol platform is a biological resource centre unique in France and Europe, devoted to the conservation and analysis of the genetic resources of soil microbial communities.

The ambition of the GenoSol platform is to centralize the microbial genetic resources of soils and make them available to the scientific community together with the most up-to-date technologies for their characterization.

The GenoSol platform provides an essential infrastructure as a conservatory of the genetic heritage of soils and as a technological platform to ensure the characterization of this heritage in the context of sustainable development.
