- Leaves pinnately divided.

- Height: 10-60 cm.

- Stem erect or ascending, branched, glabrous, somewhat canaliculate at base.

- Leaves lower in rosette ; leaves at once divided in 3 stalked segments cut in narrow leaf segments, one vein not very distinct beneath. Later leaves alternate, blue-green, 1-4-pinnatisect with filiform segments, sometimes 3 mm broad and mostly acuminate, chanelled at base.

- Flowers pink or white, purple-blotched at the apex, 10-20 in raceme at first dense then lax at fruiting. Sepals more or less toothed, narrower or equally broad to the end of the peduncle.

- Fruit : capsulae rounded or with acuminate tip when mature, indehiscent with one seed. Fruit smooth, 1.7 to 2.4 mm in diameter, keeled. Pedicel as long as the fruit and the bract.

- Risk of confusion at seedling stage with the other species of Fumaria .

- Biological type: Annual.
