- Cotyledons elliptical to ovate, with tip rounded, sessile.

- Leaves divided, pinnate.

- Height: 30-90 cm.

- Stem erect, simple or branched at the base,

glabrous.

- Leaves slightly amplexicaul at the base, finely divided (2-3) times. Divisions protracted in a long whitish and straight mucro.

- External flowers white, ligulated ; yellow central flowers flanked by palea, truncated and terminated by mucro of same size. Flower in large capitulum ( 30-35 mm), borne by wide peduncles, hollow at top. Clustered branches which bears fructiferous capitulum are long and bushy on the capitulum.

- Plant with characteristic odour when seedling is crushed.

- Risk of confusion with Anthemis arvensis L., Athemis cotula L., Anacyclus valentus L., Anacyclus clavatus (Desf.) Pers., Anacyclus radiatus Loisel., Chamaemelum fuscatum (Brot.) Vasc., Chamaemelum mixtum (L.) All.

- Biological type: annual.
